How can I best take care of my glass sculptures?
Our glass products are designed for most outdoor weather conditions with minimal care. Glass is not harmed by cold weather, snow or rain. Our colours are permanent and do not fade over time or in sunshine.
Are these sculptures safe in extreme hot or cold weather?
Our glass Icicles, Fiddlesticks, Glacicles, Birds, Poppies and Unicorn Horns are designed for year round weather. Our Poppies can be kept outside as long as they are displayed at an angle so water will not collect and freeze inside the flower.
With minimal care as outlined below, your glass should provide you with years of enjoyment in your garden.
Will my glass sculpture crack in cold weather?
What causes most glass to crack is freezing water in contained spaces. For this reason I do not recommend leaving Pond Floats or Bee Preservers in your water containers over the winter months. The floats can be taken out of your pond or container and left on the ground outside during the winter without damage.
Will hot sun damage my glass sculptures?
In hot weather climates we do not recommend placing our glass in areas where sprinkler systems are in effect. If the glass is in a hot, sunny location and is hit with cold water, the glass will likely shatter from thermal shock.
How do I display my sculptures?
All of my sculptures are blown on either 1/2” or 3/4” copper pipe. This gives you the option of displaying the glass with ground stakes or wall mounting. Need more garden stakes? Your local hardware store should have the 3/8” diameter rebar in stock, often in precut lengths.
